Woolridge Vandalizes Falcon Defense

by Cody Clark ~ December 30th, 2009.

In the most exciting bowl game yet which featured two lead changes in the final 32 seconds, Idaho Vandal running back DeMaundray Woolridge torched the Bowling Green defense for 126 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Roady’s Humanitarian Bowl. But he was not the only star of this game for the Vandals, as Nathan Enderle completed a 16 yard touchdown pass to Max Komar with 4 seconds left on the clock to pull within 1 42-43. And as the Vandal offense celebrated, head coach Rob Akey signaled to them to stay on the field and try and go for the win and they did; a 3 yard pass to Preston Davis to seal the Vandals victory. Idaho amassed 453 total yards of offense, and the Bowling Green Falcons managed to go for 538 in the loss. Enderle passed for 240 yards and four touchdowns, while Falcons’ quarterback Tyler Sheehan went for 387 yards and also tossed four scores in the highest scoring game thus far in this 2009 bowl season. Woolridge helped Idaho control the clock and pounded the ball between the tackles as the Vandals grabbed their first winning season in the past decade.
