Red Sox Dominate Yankees!

by Cody Clark ~ June 11th, 2009.

As a Red Sox fan, I have been pretty happy with the Red Sox domination over the Yankees this season. They are an undefeated 7-0 this season against the hated rivals from New York. The past two games I’ve seen, the Red Sox have looked good. On Tuesday, Josh Beckett worked six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. (and striking out eight) The struggling David Ortiz also added a two-run homer in the 7-0 win. I was glad to see Ortiz hit that homer because he has been, with no other way to say this, terrible. Then last night, Tim Wakefield gave up 8 hits and 3 runs in six innings, but still got the win to improve to 8-3 on the season. Kevin Youkilis and Mike Lowell each added a home run. (10th of season for each) The Red Sox held on to the lead after a surge by the Yanks and have regained first place in the division. This should be a good division race down the stretch with four teams having the capability to win. But I think that the Red Sox can sustain the division lead and can ride that into the 2009 playoffs. Go Sox!!!
