Plaxico Indicted on Weapons Charges

by Cody Clark ~ August 3rd, 2009.

Former New York Giant wide receiver Plaxico Burress was indicted today on felony weapon’s charges in a night club shooting incident on November 28, 2008. In that incident, Burress suffered an accidental gun shot wound to the thigh when his firearm went off in a club. Then the very next month, Plaxico was charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon and was suspended the next day by the Giants. There is probably going to be a trial since he will not plead guilty, and a judge will ultimately decide how long of a sentence that he will serve. He definitely committed an act that proves that he is not one of the brightest stars in the sky. He had a loaded gun on his person, and it was obviously not secured very well because he said that the gun was falling down the inside of his pants leg and when he reached for it, it went off. Anyone who has an unregistered, loaded gun and is carrying it unsecured is just asking for trouble. I’m not sure what the judge is going to decide, but I think that he should be convicted and have to serve time for his dumb mistake.
