Orlando Magic Finally Wake Up!

by Cody Clark ~ June 10th, 2009.

With a 108-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, the Orlando Magic have finally regained some mojo in this best-of-seven NBA Finals series. After practically sleeping through the first game (a 100-75 loss) and coming within a few seconds in the second game, (a 101-96 overtime loss) the Magic are back in it. The Orlando Magic had five players that scored in double digits, (with Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis each contributing 21 points) and the team shot an NBA finals record 62.5% from the field. (75% in the first half, another record) Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 31 points, but went 4-8 from the free throw line down the stretch to allow the Magic to take just enough of a lead to seal the deal on a Mickael Pietrus steal with 28 seconds left. This game was an all around great effort (with everyone contributing) by the Magic, and look for a similar effort on Thursday night as Orlando tries to tie the series at 2 games each and grab even more momentum as they head into game 5 in Orlando.
