Orange Raut Gonzaga

by Cody Clark ~ March 21st, 2010.

Wes Johnson and Andy Rautins simply couldn’t miss. The two shot a combined 62% from the field, including 60% from three land. Johnson scored the first six points of the game for the Orange, and Rautins scored the Orange’s first 11 coming out of halftime. Syracuse does not seem to be feeling the loss of center Arinze Onuaku to a knee injury, and various players are stepping up, knowing, now that Kansas is out, that they are now a favorite to possibly earn a berth in the Final Four or Championship game. Wesley Johnson finished with 31 points and 14 rebounds, while Andy Rautins went for 24 points, 4 rebound, 4 assists, and 2 steals. The Orange simply dominated the game from the start, and move on to the Sweet 16 to face the 5th seeded, always tough Butler Bulldogs.
