Nebraska Defense Slams Arizona

by Cody Clark ~ December 31st, 2009.

Led by defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Jared Crick, the Nebraska Cornhusker Blackshirt defense held the Arizona Wildcat offense to just 109 yards on just 66 yards rushing, with most of that coming on a late drive at the end of the game with reserves in the game. Suh and Crick dominated the Wildcat offensive line, and the defense helped giv Nebraska their firt ever bowl shutout victory by a count of 33-0. Offensively, the Cornhuskers’ kicker Alex Henery was 4/4 on field goals and 3/3 and Zac Lee passed and rushed for a touchdown as the Nebraska offense steam-rolled the Wildcat defense for 223 yards rushing and 173 yards passing. For Suh, the 33 point victory was his final college game and the coaches allowed him to stay in the game till the end in what was a bittersweet moment for the 290 pound AP Player of the Year.
