Manning Domination
by Cody Clark ~ October 5th, 2009.Peyton and Eli Manning are two of the elite quarterbacks in the league, and yesterday was a prime example of why they are so good. In the Giants game, it was much more of a blowout than the score showed (27-16) as they were ahead 27-3 at one point. Eli Manning finished at 20/34 for 292 yards and 3 TDs. Those touchdown passes allowed Manning to pass Fran Tarkenton on the Giants all-time list as he now sits at 106. In the Colts 34-17 win, this score was also non-indicative of the 34-3 blowout the Colts had going with 2:50 left in the game. Peyton went 31-41 for 353 yards and 2 TDs, which allowed him to tie Fran Tarkenton’s all time mark of passing TDs at 342. For the fourth straight week, Peyton Manning has thrown for over 300 yards and with the Titans and Rams coming up, I think that that streak might just continue. Peyton is also the leading man in the NFL this season among QBs with 1,336 yards and a 114.5 rating and has done all this while making less pass attempts than the likes of Phillip Rivers, Ben Rothlisberger, Tom Brady, and Joe Flacco. These two brothers will continue to dominate the competition this year, as they are already a combined 8-0 and we will see what they can do over the course of the rest of the season.
