Major Moves in the NFL

by Cody Clark ~ October 7th, 2009.

You might remember a guy by the name of Michael Crabtree? He was the 10th pick in the draft by the San Fransisco and up until this morning, he was the only draft pick unsigned. I thought that it was a very bad idea that Crabtree was holding out because it was just hurting his value now and in the future playing in the National Football League. The terms of the contract are still undisclosed, but I imagine that they agreed on something in between each side’s offer, or I would not be writing this right now. All in all, this was a good move by the 49ers and was a good move on the part of Crabtree because I really believe that if he held out all season and entered the draft again in 2010, it would really hurt his draft value as well as his career. *In other football news, the Cleveland Browns dealt struggling WR Braylon Edwards to the NY Jets for some players whose names are not yet known. Eric Mangini was one of the authors of this deal being that he used to coach with the Jets, and it should be remembered that he was also involved with the draft day deal that allowed NY to move up the board in order to take rookie QB Mark Sanchez. This was a good move for both sides, as the Browns won’t be winning any time soon, but the Jets have a chance this year and this is a move that can help them get some more depth and veteran leadership at the wide receiver position.*
