Halladay Traded before Deadline?
by Cody Clark ~ July 27th, 2009.Trade talks involving the Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay are pretty much stalled. The Toronto Blue Jays are wanting a team that is willing to unload to make the trade or Halladay, and at this point, there are not a lot of teams that are willing do that for him. Now, granted, he is one of the best pitchers in the game, but he is 32 and I do think think that he is worth giving up four of your top prospects for. Since coming off of the DL, Roy Halladay has not been as stellar. The Phillies have reportedly made a few offers, with the latest being J.A Happ, Carasco, Taylor, and Donald. (Who are three top triple AAA prospects) I think that with the way that the economy is, teams are going to want to hold on to the elite players in their farm system and use them to build around as they think toward the future.
