Eyedrops equals Success for Big Papi
by Cody Clark ~ June 17th, 2009.Through the first 51 games of the 2009 MLB season, David Ortiz had been nothing short of awful. In the 51 games, Ortiz hit only 2 home runs, while batting only.197 and slugging just .394! (Not very good for a man known for his offensive power) But, ever since an optometrist prescribed him to start using eye drops for his dry eyes, beginning on June 8th, David Ortiz has stepped it up a notch. Throught the last 7 games since starting on his eye drop regimen, Ortiz has caught fire batting .375 and has slugged over a thousand (1.063 SLG%) while belting 3 homers. (One more than he’s had all season!) As a fan of the Sox, I am glad to see that something is helping David get back to his old, slugging form. I thought that he was not doing so hot because he hadn’t fully recovered fom his surgery, but it might be because he’s had dry eyes all season! Hopefully, Big Papi can keep up this hot streak and get back on track to guide the BoSox to a title this year.

And what’s he going to do when K-1 gives him the boot? He lost to Greco and k-1 management is pissed at his actions in and out of the ring during the Nakao fight. Now he has no leverage, more losses to mediocre figters, so now neither Pride nor the UFC wants him. He managed to Terrel Owens himself out of the big leagues right into career suicide.
