Colts Remain Perfect (Barely)
by Cody Clark ~ November 9th, 2009.The NFL’s two undefeated teams barely eeked out wins in their respective games on Sunday. In a 1:00 showdown between two high power offenses, the Indianapolis Colts used 2 Joseph Addai TDs to pull out a win at home in Lucas Oil Stadium. Peyton Manning had a decent game, going 34/50 for 318 and a TD (119 of those yards to Dallas Clark), but Addai was the real bright spot as he rushed for 63 yards and a TD on 14 carries and also added 5 receptions for 49 yards and a TD. The Colts used two Matt Stover field goals to obtain a 13-3 lead at halftime, but had to hang on at the end of the game as Texan QB Matt Shaub marched Houston right down the field to set up the possible game tying field goal. SO they sent Kris Brown out to attempt to get them to overtime. Mainly centered, 42 yards. A gimme after his earlier 56 yard boot, right? Wrong! Brown hooked it to the left and when the dust had settled, the Colts found themselves at a perfect 8-0 and 3-0 in the AFC South.
