Busy Bees
by Cody Clark ~ July 22nd, 2009.The Orlando Magic have been a very busy team this off season. They have made multiple new additions to a team that reached the NBA Finals last year. On draft day, the Orlando Magic sent Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, and Tony Battie to New Jersey for Vince Carter (and his large contract) and Ryan Anderson. In addition to this move, the Magic also signed Brandon Bass to a 4 year, $18 million dollar deal and they also matched the Mavs offer to Gortat of 6 years, $34 million. They are also reportedly involved in talks with Matt Barnes of the Phoenix Suns. Even though they lost Hedo Turkoglu to the Raptors, I still believe that the Magic are in good shape for this upcoming season. Next year the starting lineup is going to look something like this: Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson at the guard spots, Brandon Bass and Rashard Lewis at the forward positions, and Dwight Howard holding down the middle and key players like Pietrus and Gortat coming off the pine. Look for Orlando to be a big contender again in the Eastern Conference.
