Bowden Grabs Win in Career Finale
by Cody Clark ~ January 1st, 2010.In his 33rd and presumably last bowl game of his career, Florida State Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden finished his career with a 33-21 victory over the #18 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers and achieved his 33rd winning season. Florida State scored 10 points in each of the second, third, and fourth quarters as Bowden grabbed his 389th career win and improved to 22-10-1 in bowl games; the best mark of any coach with at least 20 bowl game appearances. Although four of the last five seasons for Bowden are remembered for the mediocrity, (7-6 four of the last five years) the second winning-est coach in NCAA football history will always be remembered for his 57 dadgum years of service to the game of football.
