Boston Ends Season High Skid

by Cody Clark ~ July 25th, 2009.

Last night the Boston Red Sox returned to their winning ways as they held on to beat the Orioles at Fenway Park. (Where they are a MLB best 32-14) After a season high and the longest losing streak in about three years, the Red Sox snapped that streak as Brad Penny scattered five hits over a period of 6 1/3 innings while allowing just one run. Lowry, Drew, and Varitek provided the RBI’s to help Penny run his record to 5 and 1 at home. As losers of five straight coming into last  night’s game, the Sox were looking to snap that streak and get back on a winning streak as they try and catch back up with the Yankees, who are also on a roll themselves. No dis on Baltimore, but I think that if the Red Sox can win this series, (or better yet sweep it) they can build some momentum and go on a run as they try to catch the Yankees and distance themselves from the rest of the division.
