Beckett Dominates for 13th Win

by Cody Clark ~ August 2nd, 2009.

On Saturday, Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett became the MLB leader in wins this season among pitchers. Josh Beckett tossed seven innings of six hit ball to improve his record to 13-4 on the year. Dustin Pedroia provided all that was needed with his solo homerun in the top of the first. Kevin Youkilis also pitched in going 4-4 with  homer, and the newly acquired Victor Martinez knocked in a run. The Sox defeated the Orioles 4-0 to run their win streak to three and only a half game out in the AL East behind the division leading Yankees. (Who are on a little losing skid of their own) Lets hope that Boston can keep up this winning pace and take back the division from the hated Yanks, and secure themselves a spot in the playoffs.
