2 More Names From the List

by Cody Clark ~ July 30th, 2009.

Remember that list of 104 names that failed drug tests from 2003? Well, now, two more player’s names have been reportedly linked to steroids by being on that list. David Ortiz of the Red Sox and Manny Ramirez of the Dodgers were members of that list of 104 names from ‘03 as reported by Mike Schmidt of the New York Times. I am not to surprised about Manny because he has just recently come off of a 50 game suspension for using drugs, but I thought that Ortiz was a clean player. He has been one of the players in Major League baseball that has been adament in his saying that he has not taken or thought about taking PEDs. As a Boston Red Sox fan, I am very disappointed to learn that these two crucial pieces of the 2004 World Series winning team are now linked to performance enhancing drugs. It stinks to know that the 2004 title is probably tainted due to the fact that these two guys were having great years in ‘03 and provided the Sox with the necessary offense that is needed to win a World Series Title. Now these two men join the short list of names that have been released, and will surely not be the only names released in the end.
